A whirlwind tour of Angkor

As the first of its kind, Bakong laid the foundation for the development of subsequent temple complexes in the Angkor region. After settling into your hotel, immerse yourself in Cambodian culture at the Phare, the Cambodian Circus. Phare is more than just a circus; it's a captivating blend of theater, music, dance, and modern circus arts that tells the unique story of Cambodia. Based on the rich history, folklore, and modern life of the country, the performances are both entertaining and thought-provoking.  The circus is a social enterprise that provides opportunities for young Cambodians to escape poverty through education and training in the arts. Tomorrow, we'll rise early to witness the magical sunrise at Angkor.

An early start will begin with a Tuktuk pick up at 4:30am from your hotel taking you directly to the magnificent Angkor Wat temple where you will see the sunrise over the ruins. Afterwards, you will enjoy a magical walk through the temple in the soft morning light and cool temperatures. A delicious breakfast awaits for you at the hotel so you can regain your energy. After breakfast, you will drive back to the temples, around the hidden trails of the Angkor complex, through the jungle to visit some of the park’s best-kept secrets as well as the iconic temples of the Bayon, Ta Prom and The Elephant Terrace. As the temperature rises, you will have a lunch by the local family before returning to your hotel.

If you have some extra time before your flight, you might want to explore more temples, visit a local market, or delve deeper into Cambodian culture at the Angkor National Museum.
