After lunch, get ready to explore the Roluos Group – a hidden gem offering a glimpse into the remarkable early days of Khmer architecture The Roluos Group is a collection of 4 monuments located about 12 kilometers northeast of Siem Reap, Cambodia. These temples are considered to be the remnants of Hariharalaya, the first capital of the Khmer Empire which existed for over 70 years under 4 kings. The area was a significant political and religious center in the late 9th century. Today, the Roluos Group is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most well-preserved of the three main temples is Bakong. Bakong temple: This pyramid shaped temple is thought to have been built by Indravarman I in 881. The structure is tiered with five levels and has laterite construction. There are eight smaller shrines located around the base of the temple. Climbing to the top of the pyramid offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.

This architectural marvel, perched atop the Dangrek Mountains on the Cambodian-Thai border, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Construction of the temple began in the 9th century and continued throughout the Khmer Empire period. It served as a Hindu religious site dedicated to the god Shiva. The ownership of the temple has been a point of contention between Cambodia and Thailand for decades. The International Court of Justice ultimately ruled in favor of Cambodia in 2013. Spend a few hours exploring the intricate carvings, galleries, and sanctuaries that make up this magnificent complex. Don't forget to capture panoramic photos of the sprawling vistas below. After descending from Preah Vihear Temple, we'll embark on a scenic drive to Kampong Thom. Sit back, relax, and let your driver handle the navigation. Today's adventure takes us to Sambor Prei Kuk, the final UNESCO World Heritage temple on our journey. We'll embark on a scenic drive along winding roads, passing through charming villages, before reaching this hidden temple complex nestled amidst the lush Cambodian forests. Also known as Isanapura, Sambor Prei Kuk served as the capital of the Chenla Kingdom, a powerful kingdom that flourished in Southeast Asia from the 6th to the 9th centuries AD. Recognized for its historical and cultural significance, En route back to Siem Reap, we'll make a stop at Kampong Kdei, home to one of the largest bridges constructed during the Angkor era, still in use today. In the afternoon, we'll arrive back in Siem Reap, where our Cambodian adventure began, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
